Kate let out a weary sigh as she tore her feeble body apart from the cushioned rocking chair, which maintained her imprint long after she stood up.

need another word for weary - too cliched
need another word for cushioned - not sophisticated/boring
most importantly want to replace tore!!!

any ways of re-writing this sentence would be great even if you do change it completely, not just change three words. cheers.

With a resigned sigh, Kate hauled herself out of the well-bolstered rocking chair, the imprint of her body still visible in the stiff burgundy leather some time after she had gone.

I dunno. Something like that might work :)

Kate let out an exhausted sigh as she wrenched her feeble body apart from the dampened rocking chair, which maintained her imprint long after she stood up.
