hey guys i need some help with the following syllabus points in the "ideas and implemnation" topic. These points are newly added in the syllabus, so any imput would be appreciated :)

thx!

Describe conduction in metals as a free movement of electrons unimpeded by the lattice

Identify that resistance in metals is increased by the presence of impurities and scattering of elctrons by lattice vibrations

With that point, all you have to do is exactly that. For example:

If a question asks you to describe conduction, then when talking about conduction in metals you would say:

"In metals conduction is the free movement of electrons unimpeded by the lattice"

Similarly for the identify question you would do just that!

All you have to be able to do is confidently answer each syllabic point as a question. Remember: The syllabus is just a means to test the outcomes (you know, the things like H1, H11, H3, H12, etc). When you see a question try and apply an outcome to it and then think about which syllabic points are testing that outcome.

just a point, the electrons are NOT unimpeded... that would mean 0 resistance. this point last year was "Describe conduction in metals as an impeded movement of electrons in the lattice" or of similar wording, but was changed to what it is this year... hahaha typical bos....

When the electrons are unimpeded, thats superconductivity.
