I just received an offer into bach of arts and sciences and due to its low cut-off of 78 and my uai of 92.75 I'm not sure if I want to stay to do the course.

I am now considering bach eco and social sciences
However, the course description doesn't really explain much.
So, I have to only complete one economic major?
Can I complete an arts major?
Can I only take 2 economics subjects and take the rest in arts?
So many questions :p
This course is looser then my anus

that low cut off doesnt mean its a bad course by any means. no one really knows much about the course to judge it purely on the cut off

ask melbournian. hes done 1st yr of eco and soc sci

Your UAI isn't a credit voucher that can go to waste if you select a course with a 'low' UAI... Base your opinions on the merits of the course (not that simple with a new course, I guess), not the required cut-off.

But job employers I would assume would think about the ease of getting into courses, wouldnt they?

well the course is 144 credit points, and you need at least 88 of them to be from eco+bus faculty

so i guess you have a max of56 credit points for other faculties.. so i guess you can do psych english and film studies if you organise yourself somehow:) should be possible? unless im getting some of the rules wrong hehe

you wont believe how much that helps me :)
How many credit points are needed for a major and minor?
Also do I need to know maths to minor in political economy or economics?
I would like to do as little eco subjects as possible, and maximise the rest of the credit points with business ones - marketing etc :)
And then finally 56 credit points in arts :D

in economics you'll need to do econometrics subjects as prereqs and yeah they are mathsy
you dont need to know maths for political econonmy
a political economy minor is 28 cp, economics minor is 40cp
IR/HRM and govt majors are 44cp

oh yeah.. it says you cant do more than 60 junior credit points
