inquiry and likelihood....
i am a 1st year BDesign vis comm. student at UWS
and i really want to do B Business at UTS part-time

HOW can i get into that course? can i apply for it and what is the procedure?

i didn't get the UAI for it last year but i SO wanna do it now- like it is so important for me to do it.. how can i get into it? wats my chances?

I think UAC will count both your UAI and your 1st year grades... I'm not too sure what GPA you'll need though- most likely a credit or distinction average (depending on the cut-off). You will be applying along with the current year 12's - so you have to go through your preferences again/pay etc...

UTS will give you the opportunity to submit a personal statement with your application in addition to your academic transcripts. I recommend you start planning this now - are you able to express WHY you want to study BBus at UTS? Do you have a good average at uni now? Are you aware of what you're in for by studying Business (and have relevant experience to prove it)?

They'll take your UAI into account as well. What UAI did you get and is it close to the 2003 cutoff?

my uai wasn't close to the cutoff. i think it was about 8 points lower.

umm well i work in promotions and marketing casually- will that help??

my average is probably a low credit average. will my university tell me my average?

Marks, definitely. The statement will be more relevant in border cases.

Just try to apply for the course you want to do through uac for first semester entries next year. I changed courses from computer science to early childhood studies this year and I'm really happy with my change. When I enquired about changing the uni told my I had to get no less than a credit average. I only got a pass average, but I still got accepted. So my advice to everyone is just apply and see what happens.
