what happens when you add HCO3 ion in acid?
cause in the textbook it says you get water and CO2
i thought u get H2CO3... where'd the CO2 come from??

umm...
as HCO3 ion is still a carbonate when it reacts with acid
the acid carbonate rule still applies
thus it forms a salt, water and carbon dioxide
