I have an assignment due in about 4 weeks on Egypt, I was wondering if anyone had some resources or notes or good websites etc. that could possibly help me out, as it's been hard to find more in depth information.

It's New Kindom Egypt from Amenhotep III to the death of Ramesses II, the question is:

'Explain the maintenance and administration of the 'empire' at this time.'

Thanks heaps if you can help!

Info is hard to find, especially on the internet.

Yeah, normally it works ok because you get people quoting from plutarch or someone, but not really for egypt, its not specific enough...

I like the library :)

The problem is, it's just so damn boring!

You should come to macquarie library! 50% of the books are in German (Mac.Library has all the good stuff, stupid germans) and are really specific. Ie, "The various representations and interpretations of "ma'at" as can be seen in 13th dynasty door jambs"

(edited becasue I'm having the suckiest day of typing!)

Hehe, that's crazy... What a thing to specialise in, can you imagine actually having to say what you did for a living, and answering about egyptian doorjams?

A book that basically did admin and maintanance of New Kingdom would be great... Quote Quote Quote :D

hmm, the best one's you'll find are specific- eg "Women in the 19th Dynasty" etc, which could help you if you combined them. But yeh, I hate doing the first step in researching; I love to read, but I hate looking for the dang books

I've got a few good ones, 'Egypts golden empire- the age of the new kingdom' which is really good, and a few on akhenaten, and one on warrior pharoahs, and even our textbook (antiquities 2) doesnt do too badly...

Should do fine, and I've got notes and such... Make it easy for study later :):)

I've just gotta do Rome now...

I have heaps of stuff, but I can't go over stuff that I didn't learn in class, ie, you've probably done most if it.

And don't tell me to calm down! I'm passionate about history :D

Hell yes. Next semester I'm learning to read German just so I can read all the goddamn archaeology journals.

Edit: I probably should have asked this before: Are you doing Augustus/Julio Claudians as your topic? And this is the Historical period, right, not the Society?
