hey guys,
what exactly are you required to do in nightfill (at big w for example) ?? is that when the stores aren't open? what would the hours be like then? thanks for filling me in.

you fill stock. the hours are like pretty much after the store closes til about ten for a regular variety store... longer for bigger supermarkets.

yeah its what irnie said, just getting all the stock out of the boxes and putting it on show - yay! normal big w hours for nightfill are 7pm-11pm or 8pm-12am depending on the store.. and yes thats when the store isnt open

my latest nightfill shift at Toys R Us was till 2am in the morning.(started 6pm on 22nd of dec)
23rd of december is the biggest day, interesting fact, our store made more money on the 23rd of december than the whole month of feb.

well my nightfill shift is 6pm till 10pm 11pm on thursdays. but i will be required to stay back during the christmas season

its all well and good if you can drive.. otherwise u're better off working as a checkout chick or recovery.

actually i start at 8pm on thursday & finish at mid night so it depends on store hours

Yeh at our woolworths they all start at 8pm.. but leave at different times like 12, 1, 2, 3 or 4..
My friends at Big W generally start at 6 and finish at 10 or 11..

In my store, the majority of us start our shift at 7 or 8. Half of us finish at 12, some of us finish at 1, 2. Then a small number (3+manager) finishes at 5. I work at a big Woolworths store. Around 10-15 people working in a night.

So if you're pretty much nocturnal or prefer to work at night this would be an ideal job?

Particularly good if you have diffculty waking up early in the morning. Beside, you get the penalty rate for staying after 12.
