i have absolutely no recollection of what i did for that Q... all i know is that i completely forget how to figure out the equation of the normal... all I knew to get was the gradient... then i was stuffed... so i lost marks there

Hey, if someone was going to get an N award will they have know by now? oh and gp I figured out the gradient and hence the equation wrong. Will I still get marks because I knew the method just put the wrong numbers?

0.042i = 0.3
i = 50/7

50/7 = x - 1/5

Hey

Some athlete cant qaulify for long jump, its 0.2m less then the requirement, he improves his jump by 4.2% and its now 0.1m better then the requirement calculate the qualifying distance.

Let distance AC (x) be his original crappy jump

Let R be the requirement

We know that his first jump was 0.2 less that the requirement

. ' . CR = 0.2

And that his second improved jump was 0.1 better than the requirement

. ' . RD = 0.1

Now, we are told that from he jumped 4.2% better than his initial jump (x) to reach D (4.2%*x = CD and CD = 0.2+0.1)

Solve 4.2%*x = 0.2+0.1 for x

x = 7.14

But we need to find AR (requirement), AR =AC + CR

i.e. AR = 7.14 + 0.2

AR = 7.34, i think

Anyone else get the same?
