As title asks.

I'm running a 17" MacBook Pro exclusively on Windows XP because Mac OS-X shat itself and I don't have access to my Leopard disk for another week. Simply, the battery under OSX lasted for 4 hours under heavy use. Now that it's running windows, I'm lucky to get 2 hours. I most often only get an hour and a half.

Do you think that the OS' battery management are set up differently, in such ways that XP is more draining?

I think so, if you do to, provide an explanation as to why please? I'm eager to know why.

Go :D.

I think its something to do with the efficiency of OS's processing abilities.

In terms of battery life:

OSX > Windows 7 > Windows XP > Windows Vista > Ubuntu > Any other operating system.

I didn't include any other Mac ones because they're all basically at the top with OSX, but Windows 7 has been improved a lot to extend battery life.

lol u might want to read the article from this website below:
Tests question Windows 7 battery efficiency - Techworld.com

i think the key to better battery life is simplicity. less tasks means less stuff needed to be processed= better battery life.
I'm talking heavy usage on OSX vs. Light usage on XP.

Heavy on OSX = A game running, Msn, Music, Several Safari pages, Downloading. = Usually 4 hours.

Light on XP = A few Internet Explorer pages open and possibly music. = Max. 2 hours, usually 1.5.
