AscendI said:
So how exactly do they take marks off and write in the feedback - "I didn't finish reading it therefore you lost marks"

That's ridiculous.

What I'm saying is IF theys tick to the marking criterias they set, they have no grounds to take or add marks off in regards to length.

Do I have any case whatsoever?
This isn't a court, dude, and you won't convince anyone with a smart-arse 'loop-hole'. It's patently obvious that a word limit has been set. If you go over it, you will likely be marked down. Especially considering you've doubled the limit, which indicates that you've missed the whole point of the assignment.

I mean come on. Its Prelim.

It wont be worth anything and probably wont help you at all for the HSC.

It will, however, take up a lot of your time arguing, when you could be doing other things. :)

I'm always in the same situation - way over the limit. Anyway i normally do it once, then cut it down yet most of the time i still over.

we were told that u should go any more then 10% - which is normally 100 words. i was also told that words smaller than 2 letters didn't count so words such as 'a' and 'I'. Word counts on Word doesn't that into consideration.

I haven't yet been marked down because of word counts but i have to say, my school is very strict on speech times.
