ujuphleg,
I thought it was 28cp cuz the Application to Exceed a Standard Semester Full-time Load (
40Kb)

says 28... (also the sheet I grabbed from SIO)

so confused now, is it 24 or 28?
Ok the reason the literature says that its 24cp is because all Units of Study in the Faculty are now standarised to 6 credit points.

6 x 4 = 24.

BUT if you are still on the old system, you may have to do an Extension Unit to make a Unit 8 cp in order to finish your degree.

As you need to apply to the Faculty to take an Extension Unit, to change the rules and make you submit two lots of paperwork to the Faculty would be stupid and frankly, unnecessary.

Once the standarisation is complete (ie. once all students in the Faculty are over to the new system) then they might change the limit down to 24cp.

However, they may just keep it at 28cp, to account for people who might be doing 3cp of Maths or something random. Until all Faculties in the Unversity operate on the same Credit Point system, they'll probably leave it on 28cp to leave a little lee-way for the odd student here and there who is doing something a little different.
