Pay TV. Is it worth it? (1 Viewer)

I've had Optus Television for around 8 years now. The main, possibly only reason why my family and I have it is because of the sport channels. Out of 40 odd channels I have, I only watch 4 of them on a regular basis. And they're Fox Sports 1 and 2, ESPN and Fox 8 (for The Simpsons and wrestling). I do watch the Comedy Channel sometimes, but not on a regular basis.

It just shits me that a lot of times I'm flicking through 30-40 channels and nothing good is on to watch.

Thank goodness that a lot of football, basketball, cricket and league are shown on the sports channels, otherwise I wouldn't have pay television.

Is pay television really worth it?

I say it aint. Depends on your lifestyle I spose, but I could do without it. The only problem is, once you get it, its hard to drop! I only watch MTV and V n e ways.

Get a life? I checked eBay and Google, and found no specific way of 'getting a life'. Because you must obviously have one of these 'lives' I would be most interested in hearing what type of mileage you get form it.

theyre actually taking the sports channels off Optus and puting them on that new thing.. ummm... DIGITAL... accept the simpsons and a few shows on the comedy channel that I like to watch... otherwise.. nothing!!!

So I say, as a pay-tv customer, I love it to bits.

Although despite all that, I still don't watch much tv.

When I had it I found I'd flip around the 20 or so channels, only to find nothing was on that I wanted to watch or that I hadnt already seen, and I ended up back on a free to air channel or Channel V / MTV / MusicMax
