Hey guys, I have this question where it says to explain the difference in pH between two acids. Both acids have volume 25ml, they both have concentration 1 mol/L, and they are both monoprotic acids. Help?
I guess you can explain in terms of the strength of the acid, you could say that one acid is a weak monoprotic acid and another is a strong monoprotic acid. So the strong monoprotic acid has a lower pH since it undergoes complete ionisation whereas the weak monoprotic acid undergoes partial ionisation so it's pH is higher :S. Hope that helps....
