If it helps, the PHYS1002 tutorial was hand-written and they gave it to us on the spot.

Don't think we could have downloaded it beforehand.

I think I read somewhere that you can do tutorial questions in MasteringPhysics and apparently you get assessed for group work you do in tutorials which is 2%.....well you can find this all under the "Assessments" tab in the unit outline on blackboard.

There are no electronic copies of the phys1001 tutorial sheet on blackboard.

To get the sheet they make you go to the tutorial class. At the end they also give solutions to them.

This was what i need to do back when i did phys1001 a couple of years ago.

i guess you haven't had your tutorial yet

they'll hand them out during the tutorial, and give you solutions at the end of each session

and they'll probably upload the sheets to elearning 2 or 3 weeks later, sometimes it's even slower than that, but you've already got the hard copy anyways

Quick question *which OP may also be wondering*

Do you know if purchasing the prescribed text book is essential to acquire the MasteringPhysics account?

Is it possible to all this online stuff without having purchased the *pricey* textbook package?

Yes it is possible. All you need is to go to the student office in the physics building and ask for a password. Get that password and type it into the Mastering physics so access the mastering physics assignments. The only downfall is that you cant access the online textbook.

I thought that the tutorial sheets were in the PSYC1001 manual that we had to buy?
I had my first psych tute on Monday and we weren't given any sheets, there. Our only "homework" was to do the quizzes on Blackboard
LOL this is physics not psych.

Haha I was reading and I thought 'Am I going blind, or did they just say PSYCH?'

Mainly because I just woke up.

Also regarding the tutorial... I had my first one today.

What is to stop somebody from just answering all the questions, then leaving after 5 minutes?

Question: Once you register/login to Mastering Physics they ask you for your course ID. What's the course ID for PHYS1001?

The textbook is pretty good, a nice reference if you need help.

Also, the Mastering Physics questions are mostly exact copies of the textbook questions with some numbers changed.

Speak to either the lecturer or the first-year coordinator.
