i need help with a question

discuss some of the physics principles used in ONE of the following applications of technology;
- global positoning system
- CD technology
- DVD technology
- the internet

also what are the physics principles??

GPS - a satellite receives a signal (think parabolic reflectors). The GPS satellite (the one that recevied the signal) measures the wavelengths etc. and measures the distance to the point that sent the signal. This distance is sent to another 2 satellites, which both measure the distance. They then triangulate to pinpoint the location.

I hope that made sense.
