Playing file extensions (1 Viewer)

How do I play different file extensions. I've tried different players such as quicktime, Windows media and realplayer. All players seem to be unable to locate the right software (codec) for different media types. Problem extensions include .avi/.mpeg.

Is there a site where I can download them manually?

You might be missing the codec to play the file.

sounds like divx .. and I've found wmp doesn't like downloading non-MS codecs but go to the links sunny provided.

you can also google for sites which provide information about 'file extension' players.
