i got a medical certificate one week after the absence..
it only says that the doctor examined me who states to have been unwell on that date until coming to see him..
will university accept this kind of certificate??
the unit outline says students must attend at least 9 classes to pass but i've attended 8 classes.
will they strictly apply policy and fail me?

generally no - The doctors certificate is only useful for the dates specified. However, It can come down to the lecturers discression.

Yeah, talk to your lecturer and explain your situation to him, because its all up to him. But what i know, is that if you are not attending classes that require attendance, you should be given a warning note...

But again, talk to your lecturer, i hope he doesnt count it for you :)
