Dear Students,
You may have seen media reports today concerning a police investigation into an alleged assault on the university campus in the early hours of the morning. Some of you may also have seen police activity on the campus this morning.
As police inquiries are continuing into the incident there is little we can tell you at this stage. Our understanding is that a young man remains in a serious condition in Royal North Shore Hospital following the alleged incident, and a man is helping police with their inquiries.
Mr Paul Bowler, the University's Chief Operating Officer, said university security staff reacted promptly to the incident and immediately informed and cooperated with police. Mr Bowler would like to reassure students and staff that there is no threat to their personal security and that our security officers will continue to conduct regular patrols. However, this appears to be a one-off incident.
Where were the media reports?
