This is probably an amateur question.. But what will happen to my UAI if I do ok/well in all subjects that I do:

CAFS
BIO
Gen. MATH
BUSINESS
SOR

and then completely flunk Adv. English?

Getting 60's? and 70's?

Any hope at all?

Any comments/advice would be greatly appreciated.:)

you fail if you drop school, like some guy who did so today, said "school was too hard" ... i go by the saying "you only fail if you don't try"

for those subjects, what is your UAI aim ?

coz from experience you oughta love/do well in those subjects to achieve a high UAI ... and if you weren't good at english in the first place you should be in standard (like i am) ... but oh well you got some room left to succeed

those subjects are all poorly scaled subjects, so you have to do extra well in them if you want a good UAI.
if you said youre gonna do ok in them, then thats gonna be enough...youll end up with a UAI in the 50s or low 60s
adv english would have to count, and so will the other 4 subjects out of the 5.
depending on how well you do, 70s is not out of the question.....yet

OK sorry, I should have added in this:

In the other subjects I get in the 80's and 90's, minus Biology..

Still a chance?

Bah.

Thanks for the "trying" advice. Starting to feel like leaving :(

And I know. Advanced, clearly wasn't for me.. It was all my year 10 teacher's fault ! She said I would do well..

Ah.

Thanks guys.

so what trying to reiterate on what youre saying, you think that youll get 60s/70s for adv english, whilst getting 80s and 90s for cafs, maths, business and SOR.
are they raw marks or aligned?
do you have ranks that you could give us for each subject?
if thats the case however, then your perspective on a good UAI certainly increased by 10 fold

They are raw marks.

Ranks that I have received so far are as follows:

CAFS: 1/26

Business: 8/27

Bio: 10/20 :(

Religion: 5/40

Math: 7/30

Dunno English. Probably close to last outta 12.

Any help?

ranks are not too bad....bio in this case probably wont count towards your UAI, but your english is gonna be a killer.
do as well as you can for all the subjects....just pray that everyone does well in the adv english external exam
70s to 80s is still achievable so keep up the hard work
