Hey arty farties. I did VA in the HSC last year (only got shortlisted yay/boo ) and can I just say that those of you that have posted works will, in my opionion, do extremely well. I'm loving the originality of the concepts I've seen so far. Best of luck guys! Hope this helps your confidence.

Not sure if I should ask this here or make a new thread or something, but here goes:
what's up with the selection of works for ArtExpress? In the beginning of the year my teacher was saying works aren't selected simply because they get 50/50 but some get chosen for their technical brilliance etc etc etc. Then a few weeks ago I overheard someone saying that the 'cutoff' mark for selection into AE is 49? Like it's gone up because there's just so many works now or something?
Anyone who feels like humouring me or writing a reply is more than welcome. Heh.

How do you make those things anyway? How many frames do you need to shoot for say.. 5 seconds..

to shoot one second of footage...takes roughly 24 shots or frames....it took ages to film...i ended up cutting my movie in half basically...it came up to around 3 mins 20 sec or sumthin like that.

theres alot of things bad. like at one stage i had six fingers. its ok now.
i just soent too many hours in the art room. eating breathing and living oil paint.
its 2m sq and it is honeslty more impressive when u see it in person.
the thickness of paint and stuff.
anyway, dont care what u think. just thought i should get it off my chest and post it.

yeah. im so paranoid about it. markers come in tuesday. well there u have it. self obsessed to say the least. i dont like it. it shits me.
they are water based oils which is weird but they can be washed with water which makes it easier. i also used oil sticks.
