i'm using brave new world. i believe it's quite popular, and there's a lot you can use in the way of comparing and contrasting the themes.

as a second related text, i'm using pink floyd "sheep", which is supposedly inspired by orwell's animal farm. it's fairly simple, plus pink floyd are awesome.

Try not to use texts from other modules like "In The Wild". The markers don't like that.

I'm using an article from the Aus. Women's Weekly called
"Behind the wire" (this was a quick select for my trials-- teacher's recommendation)
as well as the move "Gattaca" (again, a quick select-- teacher's recommendation)
and an article from SMH regarding the Zimbabwe land rights/disputes between the whites farmers and the blacks
Mostly government related-- like in 1984

Deflintely.
3 movies does not equal "a variety of other related texts" as it says at the end of every question.

If you have those 2 related texts, that is enough. Don't forget you have to also include your prescribed text. Doing 3 related texts in a 40 minute essay is a bad idea.

having 3 non-related modules in a 2 hour exam is also a bad idea

and my teacher has said that it may not be so good to use texts that are on the HSC list...cos it shows the examiners that you're choices are limited....and always have at least 4 texts handy....
