the assumption is that we know 3U maths and thats it so it wont b super-OMFG-hard straight away. Theyre gonna build the foundations 1st. But from ppl ive talked 2, it gets harder, but mainly cuz of the workload. Didnt 1 of the lecturer say that 1151 has 20% more stuff tahn higher maths...?

anyway are you doing actl/law? o_0

lol i'm having small problems with Math1151...
only reason is that i hardly remember any of the 3u stuff, let alone the 4u!!
also i was still in holiday mode last week/weekend, with F1 going on and all :D didn't even do any work! didn't do the tut questions for calculus but it was alrite....

but now i think i'll start getting stuck into it!
i finally relised how uni piles the work on you FAST! i'm behind in every subject...need to catch up already
but dam 9am maths lectures really suck!

did u guys get lecture notes in your course pack?
we didn't get any when we did the subject!

u should find that in first sem, calculus is harder than alg, and in second, the reverse (mainly cause alg is more definitions and memory in 2nd...unless u like that stuff)

also, u can expect to learn extra stuff that other people would normally learn in 2nd and 3rd year (in both math1151 and 1251)

the first 2-3 weeks of math is fine (just revision). u should be worried about the weeks after, cause unless ur diligent, u'll find ur very very far behind!

Sounds so scary.
But the thing worries me more is the computing stuff. I dun have any idea of wat a matrix is.
Btw, Did you second year ppl buy the Matlab at school?
160 bucks.... even more expensive than Windows XP......

Yeah, ask around for MATLAB. You'll find someone who already has it.

ACTL1001 wasn't really that difficult. Did you do it Minai?

As long as u keep reading and doing those exercices, school lecture becomes insignificant. And u still getting good marks. I think so personally.... lol

i don't think there's enough exercies in the booklets...
compared to hsc maths where we had to do stupid repetition exercies....
there's like 10% of that in the booklets

is it really enough?! there so much reading and it's MATHS!
