Dream Course: B. Law/B. Politics, Philosophy and Economics

Dream Uni: University of NSW

Early offers you have:
  • B. Law/B. Politics, Philosophy and Economics at UOW
  • B. Law/B. International Studies at UOW
  • B. Law/B. International Studies at WSU
  • B. Comms/B. International Studies (Journalism) at UTS
How are you feeling? very anxious, like chest is horribly tight, and i feel like I'm gonna pass out, but I know that my family is lenient and will be happy with whatever I get, and that the ATAR doesn't encapsulate the effort I've put in, and that there are SO MANY PATHWAYS!

What do you want to tell your future self? Be yourself!!! Don't waste time worrying about others and just love yourself and those that mean the most to you

your taking a piss. A week ago you were saying computer science or something 😂
It is very common for students to make instant changes on what they want to do in university, as while most students will have their dream course set in stone, for a lot of people, it's a lot of research, reading and talking to uni students themselves before being confident on what they want to do in university.

How are you feeling? Just found out gf cheated on me 2 days before hsc starts, that probably explains it. Otherwise I just want hsc to be over so I can do things with my friends.
What do you want to tell your future self?: Don't let yourself get hurt again, you are better than that.

Hahah if you thought the politics at Usyd was insane, wait until you see the marxists running for SRC in the UNSW discussion group posting about overthrowing the Australian government and how it’s time we had such a revolution.

Good news though they didn’t get elected..

lol pls the marxists are so desperate and scary

one time at a usyd open day or welcome fest idk, I was minding my own business when this marxist dude stopped me and sparked up a conversation abt socialism vs capitalism. I was trying so hard to get away but also trying to be polite so I answered his questions for a while, he asked me if I supported capitalism and I thought about it then said lol I guess??? I most definitely don't support socialism but both ideologies have their pros and cons haha. and then he was like ohhh so you support people working hard labour 9-5 everyday making like no money but in turn making their bosses filthy rich, this is the kind of society you're cool with huh, and I was like bro no that's the bad part about capitalism but I don't really care socialism is a million times worse, so yeah capitalism ftw. he called over his marxist friend at some point and she basically also tried to convert me and she asked what social justice issues I cared about, and in my head I was like pls idgaf but I think I said something about abortion and LGBT rights, top two social justice issues I could think of. it was so awkward because they were dissing my beliefs but being nice at the same time

idek how I got away, but we all spoke for about 10 mins before I managed to say lol thanks for the chat but I gotta go. cool thing is I made sure to not agree with a single thing they said, I kept my answers ambiguous and 50/50, I'm too amazing the marxists can't manipulate me. my UNSW friend she's way too polite and ended up having to chat with a marxist for 40 mins lol, and I thought I had it bad with 10 mins

I also got like 4 diff pamphlets about upcoming marxist events I read them on the train back home, then chucked them out somewhere
