If I were you I'd pick a random degree which is really open... like arts... where you choose 4 completely diverse subjects within that first year and explore what's out there. I know a lot of my friends are planning on getting into a straight course like arts and deferring to give them that extra time, but so if they decide they do want to do it later... then they don't have to go through all the hassle.

A really funny successful guy once told me
"hey it's boring if you know what you want to do, where's the fun in that? there's no room for you to make an absolute ass of yourself in the wrong arena and realise that its okay"

Re: First Preferences?

B Science (Advanced)
B Education (Primary)
B Pharmacy

Diverse range, confusing. So, I'm considering B Arts, for the time to decide.

I love the concept of it, not to mention the background it will give me. :)

Maybe. I have to figure out how to apply to VTAC, what the prerequisites are for speech path and then apply.

Re: First Preferences?

pharmaceutical science and pharmacology are more based on medical research, effects of it and content. pharmacology is easier to get in to, well not easy to get in to, but easier, basically anyone could do it....whereas not everyone can do pharmacy.

I think La Trobe is the only one in Melbourne that specifies speech path. there's only 4 in NSW too. I'd like to go to Melbourne, but so far have applied to Newcastle, Sydney (I think sydney tech), Maquarie, and Charles Sturt in Albury.

I don't get how it will work with Victoria, especially since I haven't done Chem or Bio and if they're prerequisites I'd have to do bridging courses.

You?

I'm thinking of Bachelor of Environments at Melbourne, majoring in Architecture. Because of the common first year though I could also do Civil Engineering if I change my mind. Also thinking of Architecture at Monash or maybe Media and Communications or Engineering at either uni.

Haven't applied for anything yet though, in Melbourne or in Sydney.
