Re: First Preferences?

I've only just noticed the UAI cut off for advanced science @ UNSW will be high for 2008, mainly because they've introduced the advanced mathematics into the title...
I will be removing this preference.
the uai for 2007 was 90.00, what's the bet the uai cutoff for 2008 will be 98.5~100

429013 Bachelor of Science (Advanced Science) or Bachelor of Science (Advanced Mathematics) - full time at UNSW

Re: First Preferences?

This is what it looks like now. I only filled in 7 preferences. Hmm. This isn't good. I think I will be deleting the ANU ones and I'll end up with 5. I can't think of anything else to put in there.

1. 428000 B Medicine/B Surgery, B Arts/B Medicine/B Surgery UNSW 6F 95
2. 705750 B Medicine/B Surgery UWS 5F 95
3. 512042 B Science (Adv Mathematics) USYD 3F 98.85
4. 137445 B Actuarial Studies/B Laws ANU 5F 95
5. 138004 B Science (Honours) ANU 4F 95
6. 425013 B Engineering (Software/Bioinformatics)/M Biomedical Engineering UNSW 5F 85
7. 511607 B Education (Secondary: Mathematics)/Bachelor of Science USYD 5F 84.35

Also thinking about these, but I can't seem to put them in the right order.
512097 B Science (Adv)/B Medicine/B Surgery, B Medical Science/B Medicine/B Surgery USYD 7F 99.95
511790 B Engineering/B Medical Science USYD 5F 93.45

I'm giving that a thought. UNSW should be running B Sc (Adv) and B Sc (Adv Mathematics) as two different courses with different cut-offs like USYD does.

Re: First Preferences?

They probably will service them individually once the late rounds start. They won't get enough to fill the capacity so they'll lower the UAI requirement then. I originally thought they could still have different UAI's even if they're under the same number. Dang.

Anyways I'll join the party:
  1. UNSW - B Science (Computer Science)/B Digital Media
  2. UNSW - B Engineering (Bioinformatics)/M Biomedical Engineering
  3. UNSW - B Engineering (Bioinformatics)/B Science
  4. Macquarie - B Science (Psychology)/B Health
  5. UNSW - B Science (Advanced)
  6. Maquarie - B Medical Sciences
  7. B Engineering (Mechatronics)/M Biomedical Engineering
  8. UNSW - B Engineering/B Science or B Science (Computer Science)/B Science
  9. UNSW - B Science (Media and Communications)
Anyone else considered anything in my top 4? I'm so unsure

I haven't finished the trials. I'm just procrastinating. Who knew that avoiding the HSC could be productive

For science or science adv at Usyd you have to do two semesters' worth of maths in first year. It's offered at various levels of difficulty. (Bear in mind that Sydney med sci has the same requirement, and in fact has basically the same first year as the standard science degrees.)

Re: First Preferences?

yeah this true...
med sci is like the HSC all over again...
first year subjects include bio, chem, math, and some physics...

this is for most streams of science...
you need to build on the skills you learnt during the HSC
thank fuck english subjects are over though, FOR LIFE
I dodge the english textbooks in all librez

 Apparently, you like your sciences. lol... Good luck there... At least you got it done... I haven't made up my mind! Hopefully, the Uni open days might help me decide. :) Otherwise I'm Kaboom. Dead.

Here here! Sure it's even a real subject. I've only learnt one thing from it. If you look at a book or a film or whatever for too long, it eventually sucks. And if it was chosen by the English department, chances are it sucked to begin with.

Apparently its really easy to transfer if you don't like a subject, as long as you didn't chose something extremely specific, and if you only want a little change its a piece of cake. mmmm screw study. want cake

That one, yeah - but it's my 6th (for now) so I doubt I'll be seeing you at orientation day. I reshuffled my list, yet again. Sigh.

Yeah its now my 8th. Probably soon to be 6th, then 7th then 1st then not in it at all. I change my mind too much. New list:

B Digital Media, BSc (Comp Sc)/B Digital Media UNSW 85.20
B Science – Psychology with B Health Macquarie Uni 84.00
B Engineering (Mechanical)(Biomedical) U Sydney 95.20
B Engineering/B Medical Science U Sydney 93.40
B Science (Advanced Science) UNSW 90.00
B Science (Media and Communications) UNSW 83.00
B Eng (Software), B Eng (Soft)/BA or BSc, B Eng (Bioinf), B Eng (Bioinf)/BSc or BA UNSW 85.00
B Engineering (Software or Bioinformatics)/Master of Biomedical Engineering UNSW 85.00
B Eng/BSc or BA, B Sc (Comp Sc)/BSc or BA, B Sc (Comp Sc)/B Eng, B Eng (Comp)/BSc or BA UNSW 85.00

Anyone know if you can do a 'Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical)(Biomedical)' inside a combined B Engineering/B Medical Science at Sydney Uni?

Basically the two most accredited degrees in the universe. Good choice. Good luck to you on getting the UAI.
