If you are on the pill and you take a pregnancy test will it come out positive even if you aren't pregnant?

Anyone had that injection for of the pill that lasts 3 months or osmething

There is always the chance for false positives with any pregnancy test but no, being on the pill does not generally cause a test to show a false positive.

False positives very rarely happen, right?

I think false negatives are far, far more common.

oh okay cause my understanding was that a contraceptive injection made your body think that it was pregnant already.

Pregnancy tests are accurate 97% of the time (says some website I just googled).

I dunno what part of that is false negatives, I just remember reading it somewhere.

No more googling things which will make my family freak out if they read them.

I googled abortion for some english assignment back when I was 14.
At the dinner table, in front of my four brothers, mum asked me if I had anything I needed to tell them....and if I think abortion is the right choice.
....awkward.....
the next week she bought a few packs of condoms and put them in the medicine cabinet, recruited me and 3 of my brothers, youngest was 9 at the time...to tell us the condoms are there, she wants us to use them if we're going to be having sex, and that they wont be counting them.

..condoms aren't there anymore

i'd get a blood test to be done by the GP to be absolutely sure because pregnancy tests you buy from the chemists arent 100%. A 3% error rate is pretty high so yeah - get a blood test. or rather, get your girlfriend to get a blood test.
