Hey people!

My course Civil Eng requires CHEM and i havent done it and never touched it be4! n im doing Fundamentals of Chem 1A s1, will i be in deep shit ? or its basically year 12 shit ?

I've done 3unit and Physics but not chem, will it be hard ? and is it mostly calculations and very little theory ( as i heard from people who done it ) ?

That is what Fundamentals Of Chem is - the lowest level chemistry.

A friend of mine (who did elec eng/biomed) did fundamentals of chem 1A, and like you he never touched chemistry before. He got through it alright (occasionally he'd come asking me for help, cause I'd done chem at HSC level).

So don't worry about it, you should be fine provided that you go to all your lectures/tutes and work hard.

If you've never touched chemistry before, the following site gives you a gentle introduction to the basics of chemistry, so it's worth having a look at it to get you in the mood for chemistry. Some of it is just a simple revision of Year 10 science:
