Actually, you are so wrong. Honour killings, rape and brutal treatment of wives are condemned. Genital mutilation is also condemned, that is a cultural thing and not a religious thing. These things that you mentioned are because of culture which is separate from religion.
In many middle eastern countries, religion plays a huge role in one's life. What difference then would there be between culture and religion?

The difference between culture and religion? Religion is basically about your beliefs and whatnot, and culture is basically a set of traditions that define a particular country or nationality. For example, Lebanon and Pakistan are both muslim countries yet their foods, weddings, dress are completely different. That is because their cultures are different.

Most of those women i bet have been programmed by their culture to accept those burqas as a given. They don't feel oppressed, it's the norm for them. In my view it's impossible to change something when the people you are trying to change don't want it.

I am sure there is a handful of women in Saudi Arabia who feel they are being oppressed, but not much can be done.

I however do wonder if some of the women in Australia who wear the full body thing, look around and see everyone around who doesn't wear it and feel like they are trapped? Maybe the do maybe they don't. I am pretty sure when the norm in Saudi Arabia is to be fully covered you are so absorbed in that culture and are so closed off from the rest of the world, the cacooon is all there is to know, so it's hard to feel oppressed..

oh please, in Islam women and men have equal rights-ive read the Quran and noticed it gave women rights 1400 years ago [in Islam it claims that beneath a mother's feet is heaven] while most other religions were in the method of oppressing them

ALSO-this isnt ISlam i just came back from Saudi Arabia on SUnday-its the culture there and any muslim with a brain would disagree with their oppression of women especially considering there is a serious absence of law there yet they have a very tight grip on women

people use your brain and see that they are using the cloak of islam as a legititamite way of oppressing women-read the Quran before making such assumptions about Islam

Do Mahometan women wear make up under their towel?

Also this, re ownership of women:

Slave-girls as sexual objects in the Quran

What's funny about Islam is that a very simple google search easily reveals the truth about Islam. I knew nothing about Islam a few months ago, and yet now I know all this. Can the same be said of Buddhism and Christianity? Certainly not! A very detailed google search in the magical land of make believe would be required to find the Christian justification for rape and enslavement of women.

Wow what a glorious religion - DEATH FOR RAPE. We live in Australia honey, and we don't believe in that shit. Also, the punishment for Mahometans who commit adultery is death. Furthermore, Islam does not confer the same status upon women as it does to men, and thus Mahometan women will be treated more harshly than men for their trivial indiscretions.

DEATH TO THE WOMAN THAT INVOLUNTARILY OPENS HER LOINS FOR THE AGGRESSIVE, HAIRY MAHOMETAN MAN!

I loathe it when women ninja up.

If it's their choice (which it isn't in Saudi Arabia), fine, where what one wishes.

It pisses me off when they lift up their flap to take a sip from a cup.
Covering your face ain't going to get you to heaven (since that is the obvious objective).

Islam views women just as a distraction, just a 'piece of meat' to be covered when men are not wanting to devour them sexually! Women in islam do not have a personality of their own , they are just another property of muslim men, a contraption to satiate their sexual desires.

This current ninja's above shows 'pristine islam' in Saudi Arabia, Swat Valley in Pakistan controlled by Taliban, or any other place where Islam flourishes. That is the mental conditioning of Muslim men that they can't see beyond their circumcised dicks. In fact , most of their nerves to their brain is concentrated on their dicks. That's why they are barren intellectually and morally. Can anyone imagine that a women raped has to provide four male witnesses to prove her"innocence" or else she may be stoned to death accused as an adulteress! This is the most barbaric cult ever which denigrates and degenerates half the humanity on the basis of their sex.

God help these TV presenters, they will most likely be killed within a week because of Islam.
Im sorry but since you are Jewish that point about circumcision is invalid.

It is a barbaric tradition in disguise as a medical procedure which is forced upon by both Muslims and Jews and a lot of others due to bad or uninformed doctors...

If you support the "benefits" of it then you should be able to make a choice to have it done when you are older or if you get an infection, or it should just be left up to the parents. A religion forcing it is really barbaric.

Yes, but the Arabic language is vastly different from the English language. In Arabic, a word could have multiple interpretations, so a particular translation you find on the net might not be reliable.

hahahaha

so the Koran, essentially a guide on how avoid being TORTURED FOREVER, was written in ONE, complex, hard to translate language?

Allah is so kind to us humans. We have much to be thankful for.
