i) find displacement of x and y and then make t subject and solve together and should end up with the required.
ii) sub x= ORcos@ and y=ORsin@ into i ( let OR =m )
iii) use this fact for max sin(alpha - @ ) =1 for max.

ps i havn't done this on paper. I remember doing this type of question from this hsc paper which escapes my mind. soo yeah i got the method from there.

What Aerath said about the beginning of step 3 =).

Umm. the answer is right. Its just that they wanted it presented geometrically. So I rearranged it so it could =). I think..

Ah...sorry. I was looking at the answer where it said alpha = @ + pi/2
