well how about a rundown of the course

* it provides detailed info about businesses- in the area of finance, marketing, change, employment relations, as well as about global businesses.

* it is theory based, it has lots of content, but its useful and some is general knowledge.

* its not that difficult of a course

* the hsc exams is set out as follows:
- 20 multis
- 5 short answer which include a,b,c ...
-1 business report
- 1 extended response (can be business report or essay format)
nicely explained without wings :) :uhhuh:

business is my fave subject, but i have an awsome teacher. its a really easy and interesting course... but like someone else said, theres sooo much writing. its the most writing out of all my subjects. i used 3 fat books through year 11 alone!

but the work is all interesting and fun.

pros
- easy to learn, understand
- can be rote learnt
- wee easy if you also do economics

cons
- a lot of content
- extra info needs to be updated frequently (eg, your case study)
- BAD scaling

It's really easy and interesting, basically if you use your common sense you'll excel. It's not a subject where you can really rote learn the textbook and then go really well in the exam, you have to understand it and be able to integrate your own ideas and conclusions.

rote learning is when you teach yourself
No, its where you memorise content out of the textbook or some other source.

i dun see what everyone is so worried about.

Business studies is the one EASIEST subject in the world.
essentially becoz all the concepts you will come across are strightforward in nature.

in fact, doing business studies requires nothing but common sense and a bit of bullshit. its one of those subjects where u can just bluff ur way thru.....

agreed wif mandy: you can really rote learn the textbook and then go really well in the exam, you have to understand it and be able to integrate your own ideas and conclusions

basically s/he is saying business studies is a bullshitting subject.
