i looked at the question over and over again but it just wouldnt click. i think maybe if im very lucky i might get 1 mark just for the bullshit i scribbled when i tried to differentiate the area to get the minimum.

it wasnt that hard... was it? i reckon it got it all, well atleast all the 'how that' ones, which is 5/10, but what did everyone get for the last question?

It was da easiest maths 2 unit exam i have ever seen. I reckon i lost 1 mark in question 2 due to a dodgy proof for the similiar triangles lol. But overall i think i have lost a maximum of 5 marks if not less.. it might make up for how badly i went in physics and english

I think i got 33 root 2 or 32 root 3 which is da same but i think u should have left it exact as all other values in the question were exact so

That confused the crap out of me. I did the last question first, got x=2 for the value of x and 50 something as minimum area. then i went back and did the 'possible values' question and found x=2 to be out of the domain :( Was running out of time so I just found the area using x=8/3 which is (i think) the min possible value of x. I also stuffed up the domain because my upper limit was larger than 12cm :p

A hopeful max mark of 5/12 for that section, provided the bullshit that scribbled over the 2 booklets that i used

180? the area of the entire paper is only 12*13 =156
i think x=8/3 is the right x value for min area

did i delete my msg?

yeah i stuffed that up, hmm how the hell did i get that thinking about it,

no wonder i was thinking of using 8/3 from the previous y is between 12 and 13 answer i had, but then i just differentiated and let it equal 0 and garhh

ok i stuffed up 3 marks then + that stupid garden area, omg lol i forgot to times the area of taht small triangle bit with sin120 to add with the sector and i think i got that intercept question wrong with the k values, i tried to solve it simulatneously and proving that one of the values didnt cross through the line becasue it wasnt a quadratic equation and had no real roots, but somehow i kept getting real roots

so i think that by bye to 3+1+2 = 6 marks, grr, everything else was preety solid though

I also got 32 root 3 as the minimum area. . it should be left exact but the question didn't specify so however you leave it they have to mark

I could be wrong .. but a lot of ppl got -0.044. the thing is simpson's rule finds area, but the question didnt ask for area. some ppl still put an absolute value, but integrals can be negative and areas can't.
