ok im doing an assessment on better health... and one of the questions is:
Discuss the role of quarantine in preventing the spread of disease in plants and animals into Australia or across regions of Australia. Describe a plant and animal disease in detail.
im ok with the quarantine part but was wondering can anyone suggest a plant disease that is fairly easy to find info on cuz everything i find is way too detailed and scientific to use in the assessement...plz help me

I had a similar assessment task on that question and also i dont think there are many specific plant diseases that pose threat to argriculture, etc. here is an extract from my assessment task:

"Quarantine laws also exist within Australia to prevent spread of infected plants and animals across regions of Australia. For example Mediterranean fruit fly is only present in certain parts of Australia and quarantine laws ensure that it does not spread to other areas and across states and damage plants."

So the one i mentioned is fruit fly which eats away fruit crops and so on.

sorry but i hope this helps :)
