In the acidic environment test 3, question 11 from NEAP they state 2.496g of anhydrous sodium carbonate is dissolved in water and made up to a solution of 200ml...this soultion is titrated with nitric acid. When you have to write a balanced chemical equation for the reaction the sodium carbonate is said to be in a (s) state. Why isn't it in an (aq) state since the actual solution of sodium carbonate is reacting with the acid? Do you think the answers are wrong or is there a logical explanation?
