Question abt music used in video (1 Viewer)

Hey~ I'm just wondering if I want to use music from a certain artist for my BOW, do I need to ask the artist's permission? or do I just need to put the artist's name with the music title in the credits?

Here is what it says in the Board of studies guideline:
Students should ensure that due attention is given to copyright matters. All appropriated images and sound should be acknowledged in the credits or as a wrtten addendum to the work.

i reckon write it up as a bibliography: you know inside the CD case where it gives a mini paragraph of info on the song...who wrote it etc. like in movie credits as well. Use that and make sure you include the company that produced it i.e. Sony/BMG Virgin etc.
