Hi everyone,

Can any current or past students of visual communciation & industrial design tell me whether studying visual art and DT is a really big advantage in these courses or one of them?
Im very interested in these courses but I'm worried that I dont fit the recommeded studies part and might not be able to do well because ive only done basic art & dt of yr 10 level.

thanx (in advance) for any replies

You've already done your HSC,

though art and dt are two of the main subjects in a sense, especially for vis com.

you can get bonus uai points just for getting a certain band, and since you are doing both, you are approved of an extra 5 points.

I'd say it doesn't hurt to study it.
It is recommended on their handbook, but luckily it's not an assumed knowledge.
I guess if you didn't study art in high school, but are willing to make up for it by studying extra hard at uni, you wouldn't fall behind. :)
However if you haven't made your subject choices yet for high school, I'd highly recommend doing visual arts or d&t. :) Especially the visual arts.
