i just wanna know if the order your preferences are in affect your chance of getting into that course, like if for example i don't get in to my first three preferences as they all had no vacancies but my fourth preference does, will they choose other people over me who had that preference higher on their list?

I think i remember reading that you wont be penalised for having a preference lower on your list and those with it higher wont be favored...that said I am not sure if it applied to late round since they are filing in gaps?

No penaly. You are ranked in terms of your uai first.
