how come answer says A? i thought it was c

Looks like c) is the answer.

Whoever wrote a) deserves to be slapped.

I agree,
The answer has to be C,
The longest chain of carbons that can be formed from the Structure in A is 5 so its not an isomer of 1,2-dichlorohexane. B & D are both wrong for similar reasons, B has only one chlorine & D has only 5 carbons

yep most definently C, you automatically rule it out, it isnt even hexane!

hmm.. well 2,3-dicholoro-4-methylpentane is an isomer of 1,2-dichlorohexane isn't it?.. both have C.6 H.12 Cl.2

You've moved a carbon to form a methyl group, and just moved the chlorines, but it's got the same molecular formula.

C is not an isomer of 1,2-dichlorohexane, it IS 1,2-dichlorohexane.


So the answer is A.
