So I have my paper 1 trial tomorrow, and my common mod text is The Crucible. I have 9 quotes (i.e 3 per paragraph) as I am a slow writer and I tend to forget some of my quotes if I try to memorise too much. Is it still possible to get into the 17-18 range (/20) even if I don't have many quotes, I'm crashing out big time .

Just seperate one chunky quote into smaller quotes so that it seems like u have more quotes than u have lmao idk

Yeppp of course, 3 quotes is pretty standard. 4 is ideal but it's less about how many quotes and more about the quality of your analysis. I only did 3-4 quotes per paragraph for The Crucible and got a 19 so dw about it. Just memorise what you've got and get comfortable adapting to different questions

Yay! Remember that your quotes don't have to be long either, they can just be a few words if they're hard to remember

Yeah for common mod I did 3-4 but in the paragraphs I did 3 I made it up with non quoteable form/structure techniques like the narration pov, the satirical form, tripartite structure etc (this is 1984) and they don’t take as long to analyse like just an extra sentence

Facts. It’s better to use many short quotes than a few large ones as it shows you have considered more evidence and examples to back up your point. Quotes can be as short as “out, out, brief candle”. Still, it’s good to have main quotes which you do the full TEQ, and smaller quotes you use to solidify your argument.

Umm I'm sorry but tbh that might not be enough... usually 3 paragraphs is recommended for crucible

If it's too late to change, again the choice of evidence only makes up 1/4 of the mark, so if you can answer the question well and provide sophisticated ideas then you should be fine

no because thats literally impossible to write in 45 minutes im sorry I do have 3 remembered for backup THANKFULLY but no I dont think I'll finish

Hmmm well do what you're able to manage in the time. Exam adrenaline is real though, so if you can hurry through your two prepared paragraphs, you can try and put together a third

yall quality over quantity stop stressing and memorise a detailed analysis for a few good quotes instead of overloading ur brain with too many quotes that u prolly wont even remember the analysis for
