Again this is from Richard (iii); just want to clarify if the "son of york" refers Edward IV, who was king at that time - Richard says this line in his dramatic opening soliloquy.

The original text reads:

Now is the winter of our discontent
Made glorious summer by this son of York,

Essentially, this is conveying the following information:

Now the winter of our troubles has been transformed into glorious summer by the ascension of my brother, King Edward IV, son of the house of York.

Therefore, yes, "son of York" is indeed referring to King Edward IV.
