I just wanted to know if anyone knows the deal with quotes and lyrics is in art works.
After you've quoted, do you have to put who says/sings it afterwards?

for example: "Thats one small step for man. One giant leap for mankind." - Neil Armstrong.

maybe. i'm not sure. i think you could probably get away with it -- but at the very least reference the artist clearly in your VAPD.

i used a lot of song lyrics in mine, and whilst i didn't reference it on the actual artwork (it would have looked retarded), i referenced it in my VAPD. you're not stealing as long as you reference it somewhere.

but it depends, like, maybe you WANT to reference the quote, because the 'quotee' may add meaning to the artwork? i dunno
