I'm Malaysian Chinese, born here but have only lived here for teh past five years so I still think of myself as Malaysian Chinese. btw, is there anyone here who can actually speak another Chinese dialect that is not Mandarin, Cantonese or Shanghainese? I know Hokkien and Hakka when I hear it, but can't speak it.

I speak Teo Chew/Dier Jill/Til Zhao ( same dialect pronounced in different dialects ). It's relatively minor but I've come across about 10 other people around my age so far who are Teo Chew but use the more common Chinese dialects.
