I know this has probably been asked before but still..

Okay, so I got 65% for my maths adv test and the top guy in my year got 100%. I know he will consistently get 90+ for every exam so is there any way at all I will beat him in ranks?

He will have to do badly in at least 1 exam, and you must get 100%'s in the next few lol...

you dont have to come first... ranks within 1-15 are good as long as your getting above lets say 85% thats good

It depends, the HSC is unpredictable. For all you know, he might stuff one exam which could give you the opportunity to overtake him.

I don't think this guy will stuff an exam most likely, but his 2U doesn't affect you as long as he does 4U.

That said, you can most certainly still get up close to him in ranks

Also, he's from another country and he's already learnt all this stuff before so he has an unfair advantage

Well it depends. Nothing is set in stone. I remember thinking that many people ahead of me would stay there- but come trial time a lot didnt.

This 4u kid will keep his 4u and 3u ranks as well as his 2u rank. Although, come trial time, he will have to choose either staying in 4u and 3u, or moving down to 3u/2u or 2u entirely. If he stays, his 2u rank will cease to exist !
