What's the raw mark needed to a band 6 in HSC Standard exam?
And why does it Standard scale so slow or align so badly?

I would say you need a make of 85+ to acquire a band 6 in st eng

85+/105. Hahaha
Even 85%+ is a joke.
It's fucking 88%+
I fucking get 85%+ and my school had produced state rankers so the markers know what they're doing. But this year I think we'll get 2 band 6s MAXIMUM.
Fuck that, so it basically doesn't align or scale at all?

my school have had at least 1 band 6 for quite a while now, and since I am coming first, scoring about 85%+, would this guarantee me a band 6 if I perform as well in the HSC?

From what I've heard, in the 2009 HSC a raw mark of 61 resulted in a 74. So I'd be guessing that a raw ~85% should get a high band 5/low band 6.

High band 5, mate.
You'd have to be a student that could achieve a band 6 in advanced to achieve a band 6 in standard (they're scaled on the same system or some shit).
