yes if you have tutors and decent teachers maybe you could get away with it.
I didn't finish Portrait of a Lady, soo long...I fell asleep during the what, 10 page description of Osmond's house.

If you had read them then you'd likely have gotten higher - thats pretty tried and tested as well. And it isn't just about "prefering to read", its what you sign up for when you do the course - lots of reading, its even part of the course requirements that you do "wider investigation" ie reading a busload. So regardless of how well you do, you should never not read the texts just because you find them boring.
