i just finished reading daphne du maurier's rebecca, and there were a couple of things that confused me. i couldnt find anything by google-ing, so i thought one of the wise folks here might be able to help me. was maxim blind at the begining of the novel? when the protagonist is remembering manderley, she says something about becoming good at reading aloud. i think im confused about this because i saw a mini series of rebecca a while ago, and i think maxim was blinded in the fire at manderley, but the book doent mention it. im not sure if i borrowed an abridged book and the end sequence was cut down a lot, or if that's it.
shut up- i know its a long post for something so little, but this is the first book i've read in nearly a year! im so happy i dont have anything to go until the HSC...
