=( Well, what really put me off about The Great Gatsby was the "Introduction" part in the beginning (Which I'm not sure is in all versions of the book). I think I read that the first night we got the book and I think I only understood about 10% of what it said, it just really put me off. The blurb was much too vague as well. I don't know, it probably spoiled the book for me but at least the cliffs notes made me more enthusiastic because of all the superlatives =) Like, "GREATEST" literary work and, "MOST POETIC". etc.
