Repeating Year 12 (2 Viewers)

Out of curiosity, for the 03ers, who is repeating year 12?
at my school there are 2 people repeating the HSC that are now in my grade. how many are there at your school? i just find it a bit strange especially at my school but i gues thats what they want. so be it

My school has a handful repeating year 12, though that's because they didn't do a damn thing all year.

I'm similar, though I actually handed things in so yeah...uni for me.

Such a waste of time doing it again, theres never a great improvement. And to do it at school again would be so tough, you spend all year building up to finish school and then go and do it all over again. Id never do it again and if I did it'd be at Tafe.

if they dont go to tafe these people usually find another skool to do their hsc in again...in order to have a "fresh start"...i know 2 boys in the year 12 b4 us that did this

I agree with Ms12, it IS a waste of time because people who need to repeat usually share a common problem - complete lack of work ethic. The ones I have and do know (more than one would expect from selective schools) did absolutely no work throughout the year, or never showed up, or prioritised stupid things like orgies over assignments. That was no joke.

Unless you are forced into Pathways by circumstances like severe illness or a career in performance, sport etc, there is little to no evidence that another attempt will garner any improvement in your performance. It's all about yourself and how much work you put in...

I don't know why they would go through all of that again!!! I think that 1 person from our school is repeating ... but why don't they go to tafe and start going through the back door to uni???

And what happens if they get worse results than they did last year, are they gonna resit the whole thing again???

yeah, i would've chosen the TAFE optiion as well- there's no way i'm going thru the HSC again!

I couldn't do it again, especially not at the same school. I don't think I could even bear to do the exams and stuff again. I think a better option would be to go to Tafe and do some sort of related voacational course, or go out and get a job, and try again for uni later....

if you got shit, means you didnt do shit. so if your going to study, then you should repeat

a) had no friends
b) bcame friendly with yr11's
c) c above above
d) are young enuf to do so
e) cannot catch up wif yr12 stuff or just plain dumb...

A girl in my year who was doing pathways ran away to the coast with her boyfriend, became a pentecostal christian, and is now pregnant.... she won't be finishing year 12!!! And geeze I feel sorry for the baby!

I know a guy that repeated year 11.... we told him he should just do year 12, and if he stuffs that up do year 12 again.... but ughh... i spose he DID have to repeat, so i guess we cant expect logic.

in my skool they force u to repeat yr. 11 if u didn't finish yr. 11 satisfactorily- so yeah, lotta ppl. repeat yr. 11.
