A girl in my year who was doing pathways ran away to the coast with her boyfriend, became a pentecostal christian, and is now pregnant.... she won't be finishing year 12!!! And geeze I feel sorry for the baby!
That has to be the stupidest decision I've ever encountered. Firstly, ALL medical schools take into account the length of time you took to complete year 12, even if you were already eligible to enter university after the normal time. Therefore even if this person DOES get a better UAI this year, they'll need to do something else better in order to get in.Originally posted by redslert
got uai of 96.9, not happy cause he didn't get into med, repeating chemistry and maths 3u

reminds me too. a girl at my old school has been "forced" by her parents to repeat year 11 because they werent happy with her marks. is this a valid judgment and reason to repeat the preliminary year that does not count towards anything?
doing the work again ofcourse!Originally posted by kimmeh
well her parents forecd her to. but i think thats soo damn demoralising. i dont know which is worse. mixing with the ratty year 10s or doing the work again

yeah, but the guy at my skool wanted to do pharmacy and he got 80 uai in 2002 and he repeated- and he still didn't get into pharmacy...so yeah, repeating is not a good thing to do!Originally posted by Ms 12
see the thing is its harder to do that nowadays cos you won't get into uni with a uai below about 65.
