Absolutely. Any retail store would be mad not to sell it.

also a few others i'd recommend:
  • Doctor Zhivago
  • Sleepless in Seattle [not full on romance, but it's cute]
  • Punch Drunk love
  • Titanic
Lots of foreign films are romance movies too... Might want to look some up :uhhuh:

Have seen Titanic, and what i have seen sleepless in Seattle can barely remember it though.
Saw The Lakehouse two nights ago, absolutely loved it, even though some bits i could not understand... :/

Oh.My.Gosh

OLD movies are the B to the E to the S to the TTTTT!
I'm talking black and white, all the way from 1900s up until women became fully-fledged feminists.
Some of my personal favourites:
- That Touch of Mink
- The King & I
- Pride & Prejudice (OLDEST version, it's around 3-4hrs I think)
- Sound of Music

They are guaranteed to put a smile on your dial =D

I have not viewed many old films, but i would like to.
I have seen the sound of the music... I remember when i was younger, i'd watch it over and over again ( I think twice a day for a year or something) lol

Are you serious? That is exactly like me! I'd watch it like twice a day and never get bored! One of my friends went to the actual place where everything was filmed. I have an obsession with that movie.

I'm dead set serious! :)
The area it was filmed must have been BEAUTIFUL by the looks of it in the movie!
I used to dance around to the 16 year old singing the "I am sixteen, going on seventeen" song.

"I can't wait until i'm 16" I say to mum... LOL!

I was so shocked at that age to see the 16 years old kiss the delivery boy.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Good times.

Chocolat:
Based on the novel by Joanne Harris.
It's about a woman, Vianne Rocher, who travels to a tranquil village in France with her 6-year-old daughter and opens a chocolaterie. The mayor sees her as a threat (he's a pious catholic, she is an atheist) and tries to send her out of business/ get rid of her. etc etc. that's all I can really say.

Stars Juliette Binoche and Johnny Depp.

The King and I is brilliant.

Anna and the King is a different version and it's better in terms of production/acting/filming, but it isn't quite as classy as the King and I. Doesn't have the lol-factor.

Amen to that. Drew Barrymore is cute in some movies but in others she kills my life.
Anyway, I'm firm in my beliefs about old movies. I watch like one a night with my mother, regardless whether I have HSC or not. Which is terrible. I'm addicted.

...Screw you Audrey Hepburn.

Dirty Harry is a favourite.

Wait, you want romance? meh, there is love between a man and his .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off.

Sorry, I had nothing constructive to say.

Hm, I like Rebecca.

For a modern romantic comedy, When Harry Met Sally is the one that does it most for me. Though I hear some people call it Woody Allen-lite (which isn't entirely incorrect, and also Woody Allen's movies should be included on this list), I do love it dearly anyway.
