Half Yearlies are looming and i need to write an essay with two poems by Coleridge and one related text.
The related has to be from that time period, but it can't be English!
Which sucks.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Prefferably French or something like that.

I recommend Hans Christen Anderson. (Danish)

You know the stories (little mermaid, ugly duckling, etc) and if you know enough about the Romantic Period, you can connect those texts to the way of thinking.

For example, the concept of the beautiful soul within the ugly body is a Romantic concept. Used in Anderson's "The Ugly Ducking", the character archetype is also used in Hugo's Notre Dame de Paris (Quasimodo) and Shelley's Frankenstein (The Monster).

Also, there is a supernatural element to his fairy tales, strengthening the position of Anderson within the Romantic canon - and you can use textual evidence to prove this.

Hope it helps.
